Actors Cabaret of Eugene (ACE), a nonprofit community theatre organization, has been an integral part of theatre in Lane County since 1979, and has been hailed by many as one of the best.

ver the past three decades, ACE has produced over 450 different musicals and plays, including more than 29 World Premieres, over a dozen West Coast Premieres and nearly 100 Oregon or Northwest premieres.

ctors Cabaret of Eugene opened its first season in 1979 at Sheldon High School under the executive direction of Jim Roberts and the artistic direction of Joe Zingo, an educator at Sheldon and South Eugene High Schools for 29 years. Actors Cabaret moved to its present location, on the corner of Willamette St. and 10th Ave. in downtown Eugene, formally Seymour's Cafe, in 1985.

CE prides itself in producing shows that many consider to be “impossible to produce on a small stage" and has found great success in expanding its audiences in both size and diversity.  Actors Cabaret is one of the few organizations in the arts that survives on ticket sales and local donors’ desire to see quality musical theater. With the help of the community as well as connections with the New York theatre community, Actors Cabaret has been honored to produce two shows that have gone on to receive Off-Broadway engagements. ACE has also been the recipient of the Register-Guard’s prestigious award from the community as being “The Most Talented Theatre Company” in Eugene two years in a row.

ctors Cabaret of Eugene/Mainstage Theatre Company provides a vehicle for local actors, musicians and technicians to work at their chosen craft as a profession or an avocation.  Throughout its long history, ACE has played a part in the education of theatre artists and technicians of all ages and backgrounds. Many have gone on to pursue professional careers in drama, musical theatre and technical theatre all over the United States.

ctors Cabaret of Eugene is committed to providing quality theatrical experiences and opportunities for community participation through performance and technical production as well as the enrichment and enjoyment or our audience patrons.

ctors Cabaret of Eugene is supported in part by a grant from Lane Arts Council with support from the City of Eugene Cultural Services Division.
